Balms for LAMB represents the transition of our Founder/CEO Dorothea Dennis’ mother in June 2016. She spoke to her through a blushing pink knockout rose bush, which she had planted outside the front stairway of her home.

During the time of her mother’s passing, she was overwhelmed with grief and lost sight of everything. One day, as she stepped outside her front door, she immediately noticed a single, bright, vibrant red rose in the middle of her pink rose bush. In all the years of maintaining the bush, she had never seen anything like it before. In that moment, a wave of calmness washed over her, and she could hear her mother whisper, “I’m okay. I am at peace. Stop being weary.”

The dragonflies surrounding the red rose symbolizing transformation—channeling all the passion our Founder/CEO has left into making a difference in the lives of Balms for LAMB clients.

The acronym “Balms for LAMB” came about when our Founder/CEO’s children’s godmother and her brainstormed using the first initials of her children’s names. It represents the healing oils (balm) that cover and protect her children.
